About this Event:

Join NY BHA for our annual Three Rivers WMA Pack Out.  Started a few years ago we have been walking the trails of this great spot and cleaning up trash.

Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area is managed by DEC's Division of Fish and Wildlife for wildlife conservation and wildlife-associated recreation (hunting, trapping, wildlife viewing, and photography). Funding to maintain and manage this site is provided by the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration or "Pittman-Robertson" Act. The primary purposes of Three Rivers WMA are for wildlife management, wildlife habitat management, and wildlife-dependent recreation. This WMA is 3,607 acres and was named due to its proximity to the junction of the Seneca and Oneida Rivers which form the Oswego River. The WMA is situated in Onondaga County about 18 miles north of Syracuse between Baldwinsville and Phoenix.

Not only is this a great spot to hunt deer and waterfowl, it also boasts some great birding opportunities as the WMA has been designated as a Bird Conservation Area. Large contiguous areas of grassland, shrubland and early successional forest, marsh and wetland provide habitat for a variety of bird species both game and nongame.

When: April 25th, 2026 9:00 to Noon

What to Bring: Prepare for the weather and wear comfortable footware that will get muddy, gloves and bug spray are also recommended.  Trash bags will be provided.

About the Program

Overview:

HFNY events allow you to see what the outdoor experience and wildlife conservation are all about.
Event topics can include target shooting, archery, fishing, field dressing, trapping, mentored hunts, seminars, social gatherings and more.

Events are designed for all ability levels, unless otherwise indicated.
HuntFishNY events are offered by NY DEC and a network of partners and instructors who conduct hands-on events, teaching the basics of hunting, fishing, trapping, outdoor safety, wildlife, and other outdoor skills.

DEC may facilitate registration and aid in advertising for HFNY events. If not a DEC hosted or co-hosted event, the logistics and implementation of the event are solely the responsibility of the host.
If you have questions about an event, please contact the event host for more information.
