About this Event:
The Dansville Fish and Game Club would like to invite all Lady hunters to join us for a day of wing shooting. We invite all you girls out for our annual “Ladies Only” pheasant hunt. This is always a favorite for our dogs and handlers as the ladies tend to take things a bit less seriously and truly enjoy their day.
The Dansville Fish and Game club will be providing the dogs and the handlers. NYSDEC Reynolds Game Farm will provide the birds.
You will need to come prepared for a day in the field. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Bring your favorite shotgun, a few shells, a good comfortable pair of waterproof boots, and an appetite for fun. Please bring along your own supply of drinking water. (Comfortable boots are a must, these hunts often require several miles of walking in field conditions.) Blaze orange vest/jacket and head cover will be required of ALL who take the field for this event. Participants will be required to have a valid NYS hunting license.
We recommend high brass #4, 5, or 6 shot. Open trap and skeet shooting for practice is available weekly Tuesday afternoons and Sunday mornings at the club, for any who would like to get some practice in before we take the field. We hold "Hunting with Dogs" safety seminars prior to the season opener as well.
Please contact me with any questions.
