About this Event:
Join NYSDEC Region 1 staff at the Middle County Public Library for a Waterfowl Hunting 101 Course. This HFNY event is designed for anyone interested in learning more about waterfowl hunting on Long Island, whether you’re new to this type of hunting or looking to expand your knowledge before the upcoming season.
This course will cover the fundamentals of waterfowl hunter safety, current New York hunting regulations, effective hunting tactics, waterfowl species identification, and public hunting access opportunities available throughout Long Island. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how to prepare for a safe, ethical, and successful waterfowl hunting experience while learning about the diverse duck and goose hunting opportunities New York has to offer.
This is an educational presentation, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn directly from DEC staff. This event will be held at the Middle County Public Library on November 19th from 5:30PM-8:30PM.

HFNY events allow you to see what the outdoor experience and wildlife conservation are all about.
Event topics can include target shooting, archery, fishing, field dressing, trapping, mentored hunts, seminars, social gatherings and more.

HuntFishNY events are offered by NY DEC and a network of partners and instructors who conduct hands-on events, teaching the basics of hunting, fishing, trapping, outdoor safety, wildlife, and other outdoor skills.
DEC may facilitate registration and aid in advertising for HFNY events. If not a DEC hosted or co-hosted event, the logistics and implementation of the event are solely the responsibility of the host.
