Please Join the Canajoharie Forest Fish and Game Club in Partnership with Capital Region Pheasants Forever for a Youth Pheasant Hunt. This Hunt is Free to All Hunters!!
Hunt details are as follows.
Date: October 11, 2026
Hunt Location: Canajoharie Forest Fish and Game
149 Fish and Game Club Rd, Canajoharie, NY, 13317
Time: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Participants must be between 12 and 15 years of age. All participants must have a valid hunting license and should bring their own shotgun and ammunition. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. Additionally, all participants will receive a blaze orange Pheasants Forever hat to meet New York State's orange requirement.
Breakfast will be provided, along with a trap shooting session prior to the hunt. Trap ammunition will be supplied by Capital Region Pheasants Forever. Hunters will then be divided into groups and will hunt in separate locations, with flushing and pointing dogs available to assist during the hunt. After the hunt, lunch, followed by a bird cleaning lesson and assistance.

HuntFishNY events are offered by NY DEC and a network of partners and instructors who conduct hands-on events, teaching the basics of hunting, fishing, trapping, outdoor safety, wildlife, and other outdoor skills.
DEC may facilitate registration and aid in advertising for HFNY events. If not a DEC hosted or co-hosted event, the logistics and implementation of the event are solely the responsibility of the host.
