About this Event:
Are you someone who has never been Pheasant hunting before or looking for a reason to jump back into it? If this is you join NYSDEC Region 1 staff for our Mentored Pheasant Hunt!
This event consists of one instructional day and one hunt day.
The instructional day will be hosted at Longwood Library on December 2nd - 5:30pm - 8:30pm EST.
The Hunt day will be hosted in the Otis Pike Pine Barrens on December 5th - 7:30am - 12:00pm EST.
Attendees will gain a better understanding of how to prepare for a safe, ethical, and successful Pheasant hunt experience, while learning about different hunting dog techniques and other pheasant hunting opportunities New York has to offer.
For the hunt day groups will be mentored by an experienced pheasant hunter working alongside a hunting dog. We will then break at noon for a lunch and talk where snacks and drinks will be provided.
The hunt day is an outdoor event walking through tall grass fields in possibly inclement weather. Please dress appropriately.
